Banning cold medicine that works is Un-American: The Sufafed ban

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

Mnay folks who suffer from colds and allergies know that Sudafed (psuedophedrine) helped get them through. It is a decongestant that works quite well. Then some red-faced politicians in Congress came up with the idea that in order to stop a few people from making Meth, they passed laws banning Sudafed from being carried on store shelves.
So drug manufacturers had to make alternatives, so they went back to an older, more non-effective drug, called Phenylephrine. I have read how many cold and allergy sufferers now have no relief, because this crappy old formula doesn’t work well, or at all.
Many stores have stopped carrying Psuedophedrine altogether, others carry it, but by this illegal law, carry it behind the pharmacy counter and anyone purchasing it has to show a Photo ID and write their name down in a log book! These books are checked by police, who will scrutinize the list.
This is the ultimate invasion of privacy and violation of civil rights. Why hasn’t this law been challanged? I view this law as illegal, and refuse to put my name in a logbook to tell Big Brother what I’m taking for my cold. If I owned a business you’d better believe I would not comply with this Un-American and illegal regulation of our lives. I am asking folks to get this illegal law reversed. If you own a business, stuck Sudafed in the main isles. We need some non-violent resistance to the Government’s control of our lives, otherwise, we’ll become the United Socialist States of America. Is that what you want?
And retailers, suffers like me will shop online or at smaller stores that carry it, so if you want your business back then put the Sudafed back! It’s high time the War on Terror and the War on Drugs stop punishing American citizens!
