Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

All natural recipes for healthy skin masks to keep you looking young and vibrant. Nothing articifial here! No need to spend a fortune at the store when you have the makings of free, natural, healthy skin masks right in your kitchen.

Natural Recipes for a Healthier Glow!

Honey Banana Face Mask:

People have been using a banana and honey mask for eons and it makes your skin feel radiant. Just mix half a mashed banana with 2 spoons of honey; apply to face and leave for 5-10 minutes and then rinse.

Also banana skin (the inside) is excellent for hard skin on feet!! Relax and Enjoy!

Orange Face Mask for Oily Skin:

1/2 orange, 8 tablespoons of flour.

Preparation:
Squeeze orange and mix in flour. Start out by adding 5-6 tablespoons and keep adding more, until you get a compact, thick mass. Not too thick, but thick enough to be able to spread on the face. Apply and let it rest for 20 minutes
and wash off with lots of luke warm water.

Apple Moisturizing Face Mask:

Apple is full of potassium, a mineral which when used in skin care, helps trap skin’s moisture giving it a nice glow.

Ingredients: 1 apple, 1 cup of milk, 1 tablespoon of flour, 1 tablespoon of
olive oil

Preparation: Peel an apple and cut it in little slices. Boil it in a bit of milk, until soft (do this in the microwave, but carefully so it doesn’t explode!). Mash it and add flour and oil. Apply to face while it is just warm (not hot! try it on your inner wrist first!) and let it rest for 20 minutes. Rinse off with luke warm water.

Pineapple Face Mask:

Pineapple is a great source of Vitamin C that helps cleanse
the skin and Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) which is essential for proper growth and
development of body’s systems, skin system included.

Ingredients: Pineapple slices (natural, no sugared), 1 tablespoon of olive oil

Preparation: Mash the pineapple and add olive oil to it. Use circular motion when applying this mask
and let it rest for 15 min. Rinse off with cold water. You can apply a good
moisturizer after this. See www.NeeNeesSoapShop.com for some good creams and lotions with goat’s milk!

Chocolate Face Mask:

Ingredients: 1/3 cup cocoa, 1/4 cup of honey, 2 tablespoons
of heavy cream (sour cream will work as well), 3 teaspoons of oatmeal powder

Preparation: Mix all the ingredient until the mass in consistent. Apply on the face, gently massaging it so that oatmeal can start exfoliating the dead skin cell layer. Leave it on for about 20 minutes and rinse off with luke warm water.

In case you are wondering, there is a reason oatmeal and honey are added to this mix. Similar to its use in body scrub recipes, oatmeal is highly recommended for sensitive skin. It can also be used in preparation of facial masks for any skin type, as well as for facial exfoliants, as it is gentle on the skin yet highly powerful.

Honey on the other hand, is a great anti-bacterial agent, deeply cleanses your skin and opens up clogged pores. Now that you know all these benefits of chocolate, not only can you be guilt free while eating it, you can prepare an excellent chocolate face mask recipe and add to your skin’s youthful look and nourishment.

As with any natural foods, if you have an allergy to any of the above ingredients, please do not attempt to apply these to your face. Always consult with your doctor before trying anything new if you have severe food and/or contact/skin allergies.

An Organic Face Cream Can Work Wonders for Your Skin

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

Organic face creams offer an excellent solution for skin aging problems and can give you smooth, healthy and young skin. Antioxidant face cream, organic face creams are all part of an integrated solution that work together to boost skin health and vitality.

Not only do antioxidant face creams, organic face creams prevent skin aging by fighting free radical damage, but they also play a leading role in reversing the skin aging effects that have already taken place.

So, if you want to get rid of wrinkles, saggy skin, age spots and dark uneven skin complexion, then an effective organic face cream offers you the perfect solution.

Let me warn you of the fact that these days, the word “organic” has become a highly abused word. All sort of skin care cream manufacturers use this word for their marketing purposes. It is because the word “organic” sells like anything.

Or they just add some little bit of natural ingredients in their creams and then they call it as organic. So, my suggestion is that rather than just looking at the label being antioxidant organic face cream, you should in fact check out each of the ingredients used.

You should check out that the ingredients are natural, organic and scientifically proven to be effective in clinical trials on human volunteers.

There are two main reasons behind skin aging -

1) Skin cell damage caused by the action of free radicals.

2) Slow down in the production of collagen and elastin by our body. These are the two vital proteins in our skin which are responsible for giving us a firm, supple, pliant and elastic skin.

Hence, the prime need is to use such natural ingredients that help our body naturally in enhancing the natural production of collagen and elastin in our body. That would not only give freedom from skin aging symptoms, but also give a healthy and young looking skin for many years.

Here are some ingredients that you should consider looking in antioxidant organic face cream -

1) Cynergy TK – It is a latest, cutting edge natural ingredient from New Zealand. It has been scientifically proven to boost the natural production of collagen and elastin by our body. Another one of unique features of Cynergy TK is that it is an “Enzymatic Antioxidant” – It means that one molecule of Cynergy TK is adequate fo counter millions of free radicals.

2) Phytessence Wakame – This is a wonderful natural ingredient. It is an extract from a special kind of Japanese sea kelp. In Japan, this sea weed is also consumed as a food. Studies have shown that Phytessence Wakame works amazingly in giving smooth and young skin. It soothes skin inflammation and is an excellent antioxidant.

This is precisely the reason why Phytessence Wakame forms part of my antioxidant organic face cream that I apply daily for an everlasting youthful skin.

Visit my website for more amazing natural ingredients that have been scientifically proven to give a vibrant and healthy skin naturally.

5 Secrets to Healthy Skin Care

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

Here are five secrets for healthy skin care that I believe everyone should know.  Healthy skin care should not be a beauty secret.  There are many things that you could be doing every day to improve your skin’s health and appearance.  I believe that these are the “top five” beauty secrets for natural healthy skin care.

Secret #5—Use a Gentle Cleanser Every Day

Some beauty “experts” recommend the regular use of exfoliating scrubs.  On an occasional basis, that might be okay, as long as the ingredients are all natural.  Colloidal oatmeal, for example, makes a safe scrub.

Beware of Commercial Face Scrubs

But, on a daily basis, the act of gently massaging your face with a warm wet cloth and a gentle cleanser like tea tree oil or manuka honey will loosen dirt and dead cells, leaving your face looking and feeling fresh.  Most of the scrubs that you see on the market are too strong and rough, particularly when it comes to your face.  They can cause redness and irritation, which can have negative long-term effects on your skin’s health and appearance.  A healthy skin care routine is safe and gentle.

Secret #4—Always Moisturize after Cleansing

Whether you feel that your face is oily or dry, you need to moisturize after cleansing.  Even gentle cleansers remove the natural oils that protect the skin’s cells from damage and disease.  The moisturizer that you use should be free of artificial preservatives, fragrances and other additives.

A healthy skin care moisturizer should contain:
(1) Vitamin E, a natural preservative that is good for your skin’s health
(2) Coenzyme Q10, an antioxidant that is quickly depleted when your skin is       exposed to UV rays from the sun
(3) Grape seed oil
(4) Wakame kelp extracts, an old Japanese beauty secret.

Secret #3—Use a Night Cream

Before you go to bed, gently remove all of the makeup that you wore during the day.  If the moisturizer that you used in the morning contained grape seed oil, makeup removal will be easier, because it creates a film that prevents makeup and dirt from getting into the pores.

The healthy skin care cream that you use at night should contain avocado oil and Shea butter.  These natural oils are a little too heavy to use during the day, but they work perfectly at night, without leaving a greasy stain on your pillow.

Secret #2—Use Common Sense in the Sun

I do not recommend the daily use of products that contain sunscreen, because some of them are known to damage DNA strands within the cells, which predisposes them to cancerous formation.  I do suggest that you use common sense.

If you expect to be out for more than 15 or 20 minutes, wear a hat, sunglasses and protective clothing.  If you are spending a day at the beach, use a broad spectrum 20+ sun-block that contains zinc oxide, the only sun-screening ingredient that has a proven safety record.

Secret #1—Protect Your Skin from the Affects of Time

If you’re like me, you don’t want your face to give away your age.  All of the healthy skin care products that you use should contain natural anti-aging ingredients.  The most effective is called CYNERGY TK.  It was a little difficult to find, but based on the results I got, it is well worth the effort. Make sure it is in your skin care products. – Margaret Bell
