Check out the manufacturer. Make sure that they use all natural ingredients and test each raw ingredient for purity. That&#8217;s important whether you are taking the supplement by mouth or applying it to your face.</p>
<p>All of those chemicals that cosmetic companies use in their lotions and creams penetrate through the skin&#8217;s layers and enter the bloodstream. That&#8217;s not good for your appearance or the health of your body.</p>
<p>Most of the ingredients to look for in a moisturizer are just like what you would find in supplements for healthy skin. The best choices are extracts from plants and other natural sources that contain vitamin E, essential fatty acids, vitamin A, potassium, calcium, sodium, protein fragments and coenzyme Q10.</p>
<p>The ingredients to avoid include petrolatum, mineral oil and paraffin wax, because they are not moisturizers. They are basically cheap fillers that are not beneficial to the skin&#8217;s health in any way. Other ingredients to avoid include artificial preservatives and added fragrances, because they are the most likely causes of adverse and allergic reactions. There are many other ingredients to avoid, as well, but if you only use all-natural products, you should be safe.</p>
<p>Coenzyme Q10 may be one of the most important supplements for healthy skin. Research has shown that it is the first antioxidant that is depleted when we are exposed to UV rays from the sun. Those UV rays do all kinds of damage without COQ10.</p>

<p>Areas of hyper-pigmentation, sometimes referred to as age spots, are a sign of overexposure to UV rays from the sun. Small amounts of exposure to the sun are healthy and necessary for the skin to synthesize vitamin D, one of the skin&#8217;s functions that go on without you being aware of it. Over-exposure, spending hours and hours in sunlight without protection, causes damage on a molecular level that will eventually hasten the appearance of wrinkles and lost firmness.</p>
<p>What are the characteristics of healthy skin that are lost due to age? Actually, it may be possible to delay wrinkles and other signs of aging. The cause of them is free radical damage. If you are under the age of 40 and you look older than other people in your age group, the health of your inner body has also been affected.</p>
<p>The most likely causes are stress, chronic inflammation, overexposure to environmental toxins like smoke and poor diet, including a chronic lack of antioxidants. Other dietary factors include eating too many inflammatory foods, primarily they are red meat and pork, but corn can cause inflammation, as well.</p>

<p>Ever wondered what&#8217;s the best diet for healthy skin? It should be well balanced and include food selections from the protein, carbohydrate and fat groups. In other words, the same type of healthy eating pattern that anyone should have.</p>
<p>Too much fat in the diet causes unhealthy cholesterol levels. Too many simple carbohydrates like sugar and white flour affect insulin levels, which can trigger the sebaceous glands to secrete too much sebum. It is rare to see a person getting too much protein, but not unusual to see people making poor protein choices.</p>
<p>The best diet for healthy skin would include pink salmon. A serving of pink salmon (100 grams) contains 1300 mg or omega3 fatty acids, which just happens to be the minimum daily requirement for adults. Fat is the primary component of sebum, the skin&#8217;s natural lubricant, moisturizer and antibacterial agent.</p>
<p>Salmon is an easily digestible protein source, as well. The skin&#8217;s cells and fibers are primarily composed of protein. The fish is also a good source of sodium, potassium, calcium, phosphorous, magnesium, iron, zinc, vitamin A and many of the B vitamins. </p>
<p>Another reason that salmon should be included in a diet for healthy skin is this. It is one of the few naturally occurring food sources of vitamin D, the sunshine vitamin. If you are like most health conscious individuals, you make efforts to protect your skin from UV radiation from the sun, as overexposure increases your risk of many types of skin cancer. </p>
<p>Sun screening compounds are being included in a vast array of cosmetics, which helps to protect you from UV rays, but also inhibits the skin&#8217;s ability to create vitamin D. A growing number of people are showing up at their doctor&#8217;s with vitamin D deficiencies. The daily use of sunscreen is believed to be one reason for this.</p>
<p>Other types of fish would be included in your weekly diet for healthy skin, including herring, catfish, mackerel, tuna and sardines. It is recommended that you avoid eating the same type of fish more than once, per week, due to the possibility of mercury and other types of contaminants.</p>
<p>One of the vitamins that you cannot get from fish that is also very important to the skin&#8217;s health is vitamin E. A diet for healthy skin would include almonds, asparagus, avocado, olives and spinach, because they are excellent sources of vitamin E. </p>
<p>Now, if you really want to improve your skin&#8217;s health, you should be using a daily moisturizer after you wash your face. It should contain many of the same nutrients that we&#8217;ve been talking about in this article. </p>
<p>Some food for thought &#8230; The most complete moisturizer contains natural vitamin E, protein, vitamin A from kelp and a very important antioxidant called coenzyme Q10. COQ10 prevents free radical damage, one of the primary causes of wrinkles, sagging and other signs of age. <p><strong>Honey Banana Face Mask</strong>:</p>

<p>People have been using a banana and honey mask for eons and it makes your skin feel radiant. Just mix half a mashed banana with 2 spoons of honey; apply to face and leave for 5-10 minutes and then rinse.</p>

<p>Also banana skin (the inside) is excellent for hard skin on feet!! Relax and Enjoy!</p>

<p><strong>Orange Face Mask for Oily Skin:</strong></p>
<p> 
<p>1/2 orange, 8 tablespoons of flour.</p>

<p>Preparation: <br />Squeeze orange and mix in flour. Start out by adding 5-6 tablespoons and keep adding more, until you get a compact, thick mass. Not too thick, but thick enough to be able to spread on the face. Apply and let it rest for 20 minutes <br />and wash off with lots of luke warm water.</p>

<p>Ingredients: 1 apple, 1 cup of milk, 1 tablespoon of flour, 1 tablespoon of <br />olive oil</p>

<p><strong>Beware of Commercial Face Scrubs</strong><br />.  <br />But, on a daily basis, the act of gently massaging your face with a warm wet cloth and a gentle cleanser like tea tree oil or manuka honey will loosen dirt and dead cells, leaving your face looking and feeling fresh.  Most of the scrubs that you see on the market are too strong and rough, particularly when it comes to your face.  They can cause redness and irritation, which can have negative long-term effects on your skin’s health and appearance.  A healthy skin care routine is safe and gentle.</p>

<p><strong>Secret #4—Always Moisturize after Cleansing</strong></p>
<p> 
<p>Whether you feel that your face is oily or dry, you need to moisturize after cleansing.  Even gentle cleansers remove the natural oils that protect the skin’s cells from damage and disease.  The moisturizer that you use should be free of artificial preservatives, fragrances and other additives.</p>

<p>Before you go to bed, gently remove all of the makeup that you wore during the day.  If the moisturizer that you used in the morning contained grape seed oil, makeup removal will be easier, because it creates a film that prevents makeup and dirt from getting into the pores.</p>

<p>The healthy skin care cream that you use at night should contain avocado oil and Shea butter.  These natural oils are a little too heavy to use during the day, but they work perfectly at night, without leaving a greasy stain on your pillow.  </p>

<p>I do not recommend the daily use of products that contain sunscreen, because some of them are known to damage DNA strands within the cells, which predisposes them to cancerous formation.  I do suggest that you use common sense.<br />  <br />If you expect to be out for more than 15 or 20 minutes, wear a hat, sunglasses and protective clothing.  If you are spending a day at the beach, use a broad spectrum 20+ sun-block that contains zinc oxide, the only sun-screening ingredient that has a proven safety record.</p>
