my daughter in law has really bad eczema in her scalp now, what is the very best?

Filed under: Scalp Eczema — "the Skin Guide" @ 7:37 pm

product she can get. The doctor has given her some kind of shampoo, but it’s not helping. I feel so sorry for her, does anyone know of a product in the UK that I could get for her to try.
It has crept almost over all of her scalp and now coming out on her elbows and fingers. Help would be appreciated, thank you

He’s probably given her ketoconazole shampoo, if he hasn’t get this you can get this from boots under the name its trade name Nizoral they keep it behind the pharmacy part but you dont need a prescription. Also check whether its 1% or 2%, if its 1% then get the nizoral thats 2% and hence stronger. Also try tee tree shampoos leaving them on for a couple of minutes before washing them out. If it hasnt cleared up within another week then ask the GP to refer you to a dermatologist especially if its painful. Hope your daughter gets better soon.

About the other post nizoral IS ketoconazole just its company name if what you have says ketoconazole on the bottle then nizorals the same, also stick with it for about 4 weeks

  3. if its not working , i suggest telling the doctor about it , so he can recommend you to try something else or something more moisturizing maybe, but till then id keep telling her to use it , maybe it doesn’t work right away but will help in the long run. so my point it go back to your doctor and tell him its not working and you want to try something else … because store bought stuff will probably make it worse , and prescription medicine/creams and shampoos are the products with the highest doses..so you may not find anything better then the prescription stuff.

  5. I believe the eczema in her scalp is caused due to dry skin on here. You can surely check out a solution by reading this article http://www.valuesnatcher.com/blog/the-best-dry-skin-prevention-learn-how-you-can-naturally-get-rid-of-dry-skin
It will show you how to get rid of the dry skin naturally but if you want an expert opinion the article also offers a solution in its store. You can check out what other dermatologist suggest and the solutions with correct proven shampoos to use.
I wish you luck with your daughters condition and all the best

  6. I get patches on my scalp – the doctor says its psoriasis. I used to use shampoos but these were not very effective and left my hair looking awful. for the last few years I have been using Betacap prescribed by the doctor. This is a lotion that I apply for a few days until the patches have disappeared, It is non greasy and very effective.

  7. The main cause of eczema is overreaction of the immune system. Identifying certain foods, chemicals, etc can be very helpful in battling this disease. I try to avoid soy and milk products which trigger my flare-ups.
After using number of prescription drugs I’ve turned to the natural treatments.
Now I use serenaskin herbal remedies , which aim at the root of the disease – the immune system, and are steroid-free.
After about 2 weeks of using ointment and spray my skin has been cleared up and now I just continue with eczema extract, which controls the immune system. My skin has been clear for months now.
It is the only treatment I have found that provides me complete relief when I use it as directed.
